Why it matters: The Philippines is one of the world’s most disaster-prone countries. Faster, better information saves lives.
A research project studying and modeling “Taglish” — the natural mix of Tagalog and English in Filipino speech and text. The model helps AI systems understand how Filipinos actually communicate.
Why it matters: Most AI models struggle with code-switching. This research makes AI more natural and useful for Filipino users.
A chatbot trained on Philippine health guidelines that helps users navigate health concerns, understand symptoms, and find appropriate health facilities — in Filipino and regional languages.
